This Brutal World

 

I spent a few years living in Wellington, and I often admired the Brutalist style of the National Library building on Molesworth Street. I'm sure that a lot of people consider it as an eyesore, but it's undoubtedly an important landmark, not to mention the fact that it houses their billion dollar heritage collection.

Peter Chadwick has just published a new book that focusses on some other excellent examples of Brutalist architecture and it's well worth a look
